The role of the DCA Secretariat includes:
To manage financial affairs and ensure the DCA completes and submits all annual returns as required by law.
To manage and co-ordinate activities and events as required.
To implement the strategy defined by the DCA membership
To manage membership subscriptions and awareness initiatives.
Steve Hone - CEO
Despite have an engineering back ground, Steve has spent the last 20 years in the IT Industry. During this time he has held both sales and management positions for a number of high profile organisations within the Service Provider community covering ISP telecoms, Colocation/Hosting services which led on to providing Managed Service and cloud based solutions as both technology and customer demand evolved.
In 2007 Steve co-founded Colofinder; a consultancy practice which provides independent data centre search and selection guidance to end user looking for the right providers and services to meet their business needs. Then in 2010 Steve went on to co-found the DCA (Data Centre Industry Association) the support for which continues to grow thanks to the continued support of its members and the industry.
Today Steve forms part of the secretariat team for the DCA as CEO, still oversees the running of Colofinder, sits on a number of Technical Councils and company boards in an advisory role.
Kieran Howse - Member Engagement Executive
Kieran is the Data Centre Alliance's Member Engagement Executive. Kieran has a wide variety of experience perfect to incorporate into working at the DCA, previously working in fast paced environments where customer service is paramount which makes him a great addition to the team.
Kieran's responsibility at DCA is making sure all members are aware and informed of all the DCA news, activities, updates and services available to them. His job consists of overlooking the general day to day running of the DCA, making sure he is the first point of contact for all members, as well as contacting members on a regular basis to ensure members are gaining the most out of their membership in every way possible. This includes anything from informing members of industry news, setting up ongoing and new media agreements and keeping them consistent so they are beneficial to the DCA community.
Out of work Kieran likes to get creative with music, predominantly playing the drums he has created and produced music since college. Needless to say the tapping is very prominant in this office!
Amanda McFarlane - PR and Marketing
Amanda is PR & Marketing Executive for the Data Centre Alliance. Amanda has extensive experience in the IT and Telecoms sectors, having worked in Marketing for global organisations including Alcatel-Lucent.
Amanda is responsible for all aspects of PR & Marketing and is very used to working to deadlines. Currently working on the development of the new DCA website, proofing and editing articles, media and event partnerships, press releases, social media and events.
Out of work Amanda is a keen Martial Artist, the Boken (sword) being her weapon of choice, she also likes Kettlebell workouts!
